be alleged or sworn; and provided further that the County
Commissioners of Montgomery County be and they are
hereby authorized to exempt from the provisions of this
Act such town or towns or special taxing areas in which the
County Commissioners may determine that the building
regulations and the enforcement thereof are adequate and
equally effective as are the regulations passed by said Com-
missioners under the provisions of this Act.
All rules and regulations, adopted by the County Com-
missioners under the provisions of this Section and com-
monly called "The Building Code, " shall be operative in,
and operate upon, the Maryland-Washington Metropolitan
District in Montgomery County as the same is or shall
hereafter be constituted so that if said District is extended
hereafter to include added territory, said Code shall be
effective therein,
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1935.

CHAPTER 507.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
619 of Article 16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Montgomery County, "
sub-title "Maryland-Washington Metropolitan District, "
as amended by Chapter 303 of the Acts of 1931, relating
to inspections by the County Building Inspector.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 619 of Article 16 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Montgomery County, " sub-title "Maryland-Washington
Metropolitan District, " as amended by Chapter 303 of the
Acts of 1931, be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted
with amendments to read as follows:
619. The County Commissioners of Montgomery
County are hereby directed and empowered to appoint or
employ some suitable person as County Building Inspector,
who shall hold office at the pleasure of the County Commis-
sioners and shall be paid a sum not to exceed twenty-eight
hundred dollars ($2, 800. 00) per annum, and they are here-
