CHAPTER 16.

AN ACT to authorize and direct the County Commissioners
of Queen Anne's County to transfer and surrender to the
State Roads Commission Kent Island Narrows Bridge with-
in said county and to empower and direct the said State
Roads Commission to receive and accept the said bridge and
to thereafter maintain the same as a part of the State Roads
System.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That the County Commissioners of Queen Anne's
County are hereby authorized and directed to transfer and sur-
render to the State Roads Commission of Maryland the Kent
Island Narrows Bridge lying wholly in said county and the
State Roads Commission is hereby empowered and directed
to receive and accept the said bridge and to thereafter main-
tain the same as a part of the State Roads System.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is an
emergency law and necessary for the immediate preservation
of the public health and safety, and having been passed by a
yea and nay vote by three-fifths of all the members elected to
each of the two Houses of the General Assembly the same shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

Approved April 2, 1929.

CHAPTER 17.

AN ACT to repeal Section 132 of Article 21 of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title "Talbot County, " sub-title "Ox-
ford, " and to re-enact the same with amendments.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That Section 132 of Article 21 of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title "Talbot County, " sub-title "Oxford, "
be, and the same is hereby, repealed and re-enacted with
amendments so as to read as follows:

132. The inhabitants of Oxford in Talbot County and all
other persons holding real property in said town are hereby
made and declared a body corporate by the name of "The Com-
missioners of Oxford" and by that name shall have perpetual
succession, may sue and be sued, and may have and use a com-
mon seal and may alter the same at pleasure, and possess such
