amounts as the said municipal corporation shall in its discretion
determine, but the total amount of said promissory notes shall
not exceed the aforesaid sum of one thousand dollars and the
said municipal corporation, the Town Commissioners of Cen-
treville, is hereby authorized and empowered, for and during
a period not exceeding three years from and after the first day
of January, 1929, to renew the said promissory notes as they
mature from time to time, in whole or in part, until all of said
promissory notes and interest to accrue thereon have been fully
paid, but no renewal note shall be drawn so as to fall due after
the first day of January, 1932, and no renewal notes shall be
given by said municipal corporation after the first day of Jan-
uary, 1932.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1929.

CHAPTER 15.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 54
of Article 18 of the Local Code of 1888 of the State of
Maryland.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 54 of Article 18 of the Local Code of
1888 of the State of Maryland, regulating hog stys and the
keeping of hogs within the bounds of the town of Centreville,
be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amend-
ments, to read as follows:
Section 54. That it shall be unlawful for any person or cor-
poration to keep any hog or pig or pig pen or sty within the
corporate limits of the town of Centreville and any person or
corporation violating the provisions of this. section shall be
deemed guilty of misdemeanor and upon conviction before any
Justice of the Peace of the town of Centreville shall be fined
not less than ten dollars nor more than fifty dollars for each
and every offense, and shall be committed to the County Jail
in default of the payment of said fine and costs.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1929.
