and maintained by the said Community Club at its own expense
as and for a public park with the exception of that portion of
the land and rights appurtenant thereto which were heretofore
conveyed unto the Board of Education of Talbot County for
school purposes; and

WHEREAS, Upon the completion of certain projects which the
said Community Club has undertaken, or is about to undertake,
in the improvement of said Community Park, the said Com-
munity Club is contemplating the conveyance of said tract of
land unto the said The Mayor and Council of Easton, to be used,
improved and maintained as and for a public park in said Town,
which conveyance, if made, is to be without consideration except
as is provided by the continuing obligations of the said munici-
pal corporation to improve and maintain the said park for pub-
lic purposes to the extent and in the manner as hereinafter pro-
vided, and this Act is passed to fix the minimum amount of such
annual expeditures for improvement and maintenance and to
confer upon The Mayor and Council of Easton, power and au-
thority to levy taxes for the improvement and maintenance of
said Park and to provide for the creation of a Park Board to
have charge of said Community Park and of the expenditures
to be made for improvement and maintenance of said Park, as
well as of other public parks, squares and plots of ground now
or hereafter owned by said municipal corporation; now there-
fore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That The Mayor and Council of Easton is hereby author-
ized and directed to acquire from the Community Club of Eas-
ton, Incorporated, a tract of land called and known as Com-
munity Park, subject to certain rights therein heretofore granted
to the Board of Education of Talbot County and subject further
to such conditions for the improvement and maintenance of
said Park for public purposes as in this Act provided, and also
subject to such conditions for defeasance of the title to said land
as may be provided in the deed of conveyance by agreement of
said The Mayor and Council of Easton and said The Community
Club hereafter to be made.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland,
That immediately after the acquisition by The
Mayor and Council of Easton of said Community Park, the said
Mayor and Council of Easton shall, and is hereby authorized and
directed, to levy and collect annually in perpetuity on the as-
sessable property in the Town of Easton a sum of money not less
than $500 in and for each year and to be sufficient to provide
for the improvement and maintenance of said Community Park,
