McGill ought to be an out-pensioner, and that her circumstances render her situation in the poor-
house particularly unsuitable to her, then and in that case they may allow her an annual pension,
during her residence in the slid county, not exceeding thirty dollars, to be paid at such time of
times as they shall direct.

An ACT to confirm an Act passed at June session, eighteen hundred
and nine, entitled, An Act to alter the thirty-second and thirty-se-
venth Articles of the Constitution and Form of Government.
BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That an act passed at June session, eighteen
hundred and nine, entitled, An act to alter the thirty-second and thirty-seventh articles of the
constitution and form of government, shall be and the same is hereby confirmed.

An ACT for the relief of James Sheredine, of Harford County.
WHEREAS it has been represented to this general assembly, by the petition of James Sheradine,
that he was summoned to attend as a witness on the behalf of the state of Maryland upon a
presentment found by a grand jury for the body of Harford county against a certain Archibald Smith-
son, of said county, and that having attended sixty-four days agreeable to summons, although the-
said Smithson was found guilty, yet being sold out of the public gaol of Harford county for his fine
and fees imposed and accruing on said presentment, the said Sheradine never received any compen-
sation whatsoever for his said attendance;
II. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the justices of the levy court of
Harford county be and they are hereby authorised, empowered and directed, to assess and levy on
the assessable property of said county a sum of money, not exceeding sixty-lour dollars, (if the said
levy court shall consider. that the said Sheradine is as yet unpaid, ) as a compensation to him for the
aforesaid attendance, and that the said sum of money be collected and paid to the said James Shere-
dine, or his order.

An ACT annulling the Marriage of Thomas Burk, and Elizabeth
his Wife, of Frederick County.
BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the marriage of the said Thomas Burk,
and Elizabeth his wife, heretofore solemnized, be, and the same is hereby declared to be, abso-
lutely, to all intents and purposes, null and void; and the said Thomas Burk, and Elizabeth his wife,
are declared to be divorced a vinculo matrimonii; provided always, that nothing in this act contained
be construed to illegitimate the children of the said Thomas Burk and Elizabeth Burk, any law to
the contrary notwithstanding.

An ACT for the relief of Adam Barkstraser, of Washington County.
WHEREAS Adam Barkstraser, of Washington county, emigrated to the state of Maryland in
seventeen hundred and ninety three, and has ever since resided therein, and since his emi-
gration and settlement as aforesaid has acquired real property therein, and his title to such property,
from his not having been naturalized at the time of his said purchase, may be called in question.:
And whereas the said Adam Barkstraser having since his said purchase become naturalized agreeably
to the laws of Maryland, or those of the United States, therefore,
II. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the title of the real property of the
said Adam Barkstraser, fully and fairly acquired heretofore by purchase or deed, be and the same is
hereby amply and fully vested in the said Adam Barkstraser, and his heirs, in fee-simple, 'to all in-
tents and purposes, in the same manner that it would have been if the said Adam Barkstraser had
been naturalized agreeably to said laws at the time of his said purchase, and when he received his
said deeds; provided always, that nothing in this act contained shall in any manner defeat or affect
any right, title or claim, "to the said property, or any part thereof, acquired or prosecuted by. any
person or persons whatever before the passage of this act.
