III. AND BE IT ENACTED, That it shall be the duty of the said John Hunter, before he proceeds
to execute or distrain the property of any person or persons for taxes or public dues in virtue of this
act, to deliver to such person or persons chargeable with the same, at least thirty days previous to
levying such execution or distress, an account, written in words at full length, of the taxes or pub-
lic dues demanded of him, her or them, with an affidavit annexed, if required, that he hath not
received any part thereof, nor any thing as security or satisfaction for the same, more than credit
given, to the best of his knowledge.
IV. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said John Hunter, before he derives any benefit from or under
this act, shall lodge a copy of his collection books in the clerk's office of Baltimore county, to be
opened for the inspection of all persons interested in the same.

An ACT to authorise a Lottery in Frederick County.
BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That Ephraim Howard, Abraham Crapster,
Robert Camming, James L. Higgins, Philip Hines, Curtis Williams, Abraham Jones, Sabrit
Sollars, Dennis D. Howard and Frederick Unkefer, or a majority of them, be and they are hereby
authorised to propose a scheme of a lottery for raising the sum of eleven hundred dollars, for the
purpose of finishing and completing the house of worship in Liberty-town, and to sell and dispose of
the tickets therein.
II. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said Ephraim Howard, Abraham Crapster, Robert Cumming,
James L. Higgins, Philip Hines, Curtis Williams, Abraham Jones, Sabrit Sollars, Dennis D. How-
ard and Frederick Unkefer, before they proceed to the sale of any ticket or tickets in said lottery,
shall give and execute a bond to the state of Maryland, in the penalty of two thousand dollars, con-
ditioned that they will well and truly apply the monies arising therefrom, within six months after
the drawing thereof, to the payment of the prizes drawn therein to the adventurers to whom they
shall be due, and the necessary expenses incurred in the management thereof, and the residue to
James L. Higgins, Henry Baker, junior, Peter Buckey and Enoch Emsed, trustees for the methodist
society in Liberty-town, Frederick county, for the purpose of erecting and building the house of
divine worship aforesaid.
III. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said bond shall be lodged in the clerk's office of Frederick
county, to be there recorded, and upon such bond, or any office copy thereof, suit or suits may be
instituted for any breach or non-compliance with the condition thereof.

An ACT to authorise and empower the Levy Court of Baltimore
County to assess and levy a sum of Money for the purpose therein
mentioned.
WHEREAS Benjamin Boyce, of Baltimore county, by his petition to this general assembly, has
set forth, that he the said Boyce is, and has been, for many years past, blind, and that he
has a family which he is unable to support, and for a long time past has depended on charity for a
subsistence, and prays that a law may pass authorising the levy court of Baltimore county to levy a
sum of money on the assessable property of said county for his support; and the same appearing
reasonable, therefore,
II. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the levy court of Baltimore county
shall be and are hereby directed and empowered, at their levy courts annually, so long as they shall
see cause, to assess and levy, on the assessable property of said county, a sum of money, not ex-
ceeding thirty dollars, for the support and maintenance of the said Benjamin Boyce, and that the
same be collected and paid annually by the collector or collectors of Baltimore county, agreeable to
the order of the levy court aforesaid.

An ACT for the relief of Anne McGill, of Saint-Mary's County.
BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the trustees of the poor of Saint-Ma-
ry's county be and they are hereby authorised and empowered, to take into consideration the
situation of Anne M'Gill, and if it shall appear to them reasonable and right that the said Anne
