authorize and empower the said Commissioners to sell any land
that they then had; and
WHEREAS, at the time of the enacting of the aforesaid Act of
Assembly, the Commissioners of Cambridge then owned a piece
of land within the corporate limits of said Town, upon which
all the municipal buildings used by the Town then stood, and
it was then the plan of the Commissioners to buy additional land
adjoining the land they already owned and used as aforesaid;
And:
WHEREAS, after the passage of the said Act it was found that
other land in a different location could be acquired that would
be more suitable for the aforesaid purposes than the land the
Commissioners then had; And
WHEREAS, a certain William L. Dean, of Cambridge, in said
County and State, at the time of the passage of the aforesaid
Act, owned a piece of land which the Commissioners found to
be better adapted for their said purpose and the Commission-
ers having purchased a lot of land adjoining the said William
L. Dean land, then proceeded to buy the lot of land of the said
William L. Dean and as a part of the purchase money for the
same, the Commissioners sold the said William L. Dean, the
land and buildings which the Commissioners at that time had
used as municipal building property, the property which had
been used by the said Commissioners and which was sold by
them to the said William L. Dean being on the southeastward
side of Gay Street, in the Town of Cambridge and the piece of
the land bought by the Commissioners from William L. Dean
being on the northwestward side of Gay Street; And
WHEREAS, the said William L. Dean together with his wife
has executed a deed to the Commissioners of Cambridge con-
veying to them the land and property sold by him to them on.
the northwest side of Gay Street, which deed was dated June
17, 1924, and is now of record among the Land Records of Dor-
chester County, Maryland, in Liber J. F. D. No. 14, folio 654;
And
WHEREAS, the Commissioners of Cambridge have executed a
deed to the said William L. Dean, conveying to him all of the
land and property owned by the Commissioners aforesaid, and
used by them for municipal buildings on the southeast side of
said Gay Street, dated June 17, 1924, and now of record among
the said Land Records, in Liber J. F. D. No. 14, folio 659, 660,
661, 662 and 663; And
