ALBERT C. RITCHIE, GOVERNOR. 97

WHEREAS, the aforesaid Act of Assembly, Chapter 170 of the
Acts of 1924 did not specially confer power upon the said Com-
missioners to sell any land and it is doubtful, if the ordinary
powers of the Commissioners as created by the Charter of Cam-
bridge, gave them the power and right to sell said land; And

WHEREAS, the land acquired from the said William L. Dean
seems more suitable for the purposes aforesaid than that which
the Commissioners had been using for said purposes, and as the
act of the Commissioners in acquiring the new land is better for
the general welfare of the people of Cambridge, it was best that
the aforesaid exchange of properties be made, and the new mu-
nicipal building has been erected upon the land acquired from
the said William L. Dean and also upon another lot acquired
from other persons adjoining the said lot acquired from William
L. Dean, it is therefore, necessary that the said Act of the Com-
missioners of Cambridge in selling the said land and conveying
it to William L. Dean, be ratified and confirmed by an Act of
the General Assembly of Maryland; therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the action of the Commissioners of the Town of Cam-
bridge, in Dorchester County, Maryland, in selling and convey-
ing to William L. Dean of the said County and State, the lot of
land on the southeastward side of Gay Street, within the cor-
porate limits of Cambridge, the said lot of land being in three
separate lots, being contiguous to each of the other, forming one
lot and which was conveyed by a deed from the Commissioners
of Cambridge to the said William L. Dean, dated June 17, 1924,
and now of record among: the Land Records of Dorchester Coun-
ty, Maryland, in Liber J. F. D. No. 14, folio 659, 660, 661, 662
and 663 be, and the same is hereby authorized, ratified and con-
firmed by the General Assembly of Maryland.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from and after June 1st, 1927.

Approved March 18, 1927.
