LAWS OF MARYLAND

CHAF. 278.

contract therefor with the said Abraham Barnes, and
that the same be subject to her approval; and whereas,
her brother Melchior B. Mason, her sister Mary B.
Winter, and her sister Elizabeth Wharton, (the said
brother and sister being upwards of twenty-one years
of age) unite in the prayer of the memorialist, and ap-
prove the object of the said memorial,— Therefore,

&c.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland. That the said Virginia W. Mason be, and
she is hereby authorised and empowered, if Thomas
Keller aforesaid, of Washington county, shall under
his hand and seal certify that he is satisfied that a suf-

ficient consideration has been paid or secured to be
paid therefor, to convey by deed to the said Abraham
Barnes, in fee simple, all the right, title and interest
of her, the said Virginia W. Mason, in and to all the
lands, tenements and real estate, conveyed or meant,
mentioned or intended so to be, to her, the said Virgi-
nia W. Mason, by the said Abraham Barnes by a cer-
tain deed bearing date the twenty-fourth day of Decem-
ber, eighteen hundred and thirty-four, and recorded in
Liber P. P. folios 668, 669, 670.

In case, &c.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That if the said Virginia
W. Mason shall, after the passage of this act, execute a
deed to the said Abraham Barnes purporting to convey
all or any part of the lands, tenements or real estate
which she is hereby authorised and empowered to con-
vey, and shall acknowledge the said deed before two
justices of the peace of the State of Maryland, in and
for Washington county, to be her act and deed, and the
aforesaid Thomas Keller, of Washington county, shall
certify under his hand and seal that he is satisfied that

amongst the land records of Washington county within

six months from and after her acknowledgment as afore-
said, then the said deed shall be and is hereby declared
to be valid and effectual to vest in the said Abraham
Barnes all the right, title and interest which the said
Virginia W. Mason now has in the said lands, tene-
ments or real estate so far as the said deed purports or

As of age

professes to convey the same, whether the said Virginia
W. Mason be under the age of twenty-one years or
not, at the time of her acknowledgment aforesaid.
