road, would be advantageous to said company, but
that it would not be convenient or proper for them to
incur the whole cost of constructing the same, then,
the said president and directors, may on behalf of said
company, subscribe towards the construction of such
lateral, continuing, or connecting road, and acquire
fifths of the estimated cost of constructing any such
road.

An act for the relief of John F. Eichholtz, an insolvent
debtor.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That any judge of the orphans' court, of Washington
county be, and he is hereby authorised and required to
grant John F. Eichholtz the benefit of the several acts
of Assembly, passed for the relief of insolvent debtors;
provided, that the said John F. Eichholtz comply with
the provisions of the said insolvent laws in all respects,
except proving his residence for two years preceding
his application, and except also proving that he is in
actual confinement

CHAPTER 278.

An act to authorise Virginia W. Mason to execute a deed
therein mentioned, and make valid the same.

WHEREAS, it has been represented by the memorial
of Virginia W. Mason, of Washington county, that it
would materially subserve her interests, and that of
her brother Abraham Barnes, if an act should pass the
General Assembly authorising the sale and conveyance
by her to the said Abraham Barnes, of certain real
estate conveyed to the memorialist by the said Abra-
ham Barnes, by a deed dated the twenty-fourth of De-
cember, eighteen hundred and thirty-four, and the me-
morialist prays that an act be passed authorising the
said sale and conveyance, and that Thomas Keller of
Washington county, be appointed as commissioner to
