ment of Main Street, under the authority vested in it by the
Act of 1894, Chapter 545, Section 246M, the sum of Four-
teen Thousand Five Hundred Dollars of the said bond issue
representing the Town's part of the cost of said improvement,
which said bonds to the amount of Four Thousand Dollars
are past due and unpaid.
AND WHEREAS it is desirable and to the interest of the said
Town of Laurel that the said unpaid bonds be refunded, the
time of payment extended, and new bonds issued at the rate
of five per cent, interest per annum.
SECTION I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That for the purpose of redeeming and the exten-
sion of the time of payment of Four Thousand Dollars' worth
of the bonds issued by the Mayor and City Council of Laurel,
Maryland, under the Act of 1894, Chapter 545, Section 246M,
for the improvement of Main Street, that the said Mayor and
City Council of Laurel, Maryland, be and it is hereby author-
ized to issue refunding bonds to the amount of Four Thou-
sand Dollars, said bonds to bear interest at the rate of five per
centum per annum, payable semi-annually, in denominations
of One Thousand Dollars each, payable, respectively, in three,
six, nine and twelve years after date; and for the purpose of
creating a fund to pay said bonds as they mature, and to. pay
the interest to accrue thereon, the Mayor and City Council of
Laurel is hereby authorized and directed to set aside from the
general fund of the said Town an amount sufficient to pay said
bonds as they mature and to pay the interest to accrue thereon.
SEC. II. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on the first day of June, nineteen hundred and sixteen.

CHAPTER 171.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 21. 6
of Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land, title "Prince George's County, " sub-title "Laurel, "
as the same was repealed and re-enacted by the Acts of
Assembly of 1890, Chapter 201, and by the Acts of Assem-
bly of 1912, Chapter 695.
