SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That nothing contained
in the preceding Section hereof shall be taken or construed to
enlarge, limit, restrict or modify, otherwise than is expressly
provided by said Section 1 hereof, the duties, rights, powers
and authority of the directors of said society, as set forth in
said Chapter thirty-nine of the Acts of the General Assembly
of Maryland of seventeen hundred and ninety-four and the
various supplements and amendments thereto.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the first day of June, 1916.

CHAPTER 575.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments thereto Sec-
tion 33-A of Chapter 641 of the Acts of 1914, title "Sur-
veyor and State Survey, " sub-title "Public Roads, " the ob-
ject of this bill being to eliminate three members of the
State Roads Commission so that after the passage of this
Act the said State Roads Commission shall consist of only
three members.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 33-A of Article 641 of the Acts of
1914 be, and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted so as
to read as follows:

33-A. On and after the passage of this Act, the Commis-
sion known as the Good Roads Commission shall consist of only
three members to be appointed by the Governor, and the duties
of said three members shall be the same as those heretofore per-
formed by members of said Commission. One member of said
Commission shall receive a salary of twenty-five hundred dol-
lars ($2, 500) per annum, and shall be named by the Governor
as Chairman of said Commission, the two associate members of
the Commission shall each receive a salary of two thousand
dollars ($2, 000) per annum, and all of the salaries mentioned
herein shall be payable in monthly installments. One member
of said State Roads Commission shall bona fide belong to or be
affiliated with that one of the two leading political parties
in the State opposite to the Governor's own political party.
