PHILLIPS LEE GOLDSBOROUGH, GOVERNOR. 1465

of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Prince George's
County,'' as the same were enacted by Chapter 90 of the Acts
of Assembly of 1910, be and the same are hereby repealed and
re-enacted, so as to read as follows:

SEC. 278. There shall be a system of free public roads and
bridges in Prince George's County, and all matters affecting
the roads and bridges in said County shall be under the control
of the Board of County Commissioners of said Countv, except
in incorporated towns and except in so far as control is con-
ferred upon the Road Directors created by this Act.

SEC. 279. There shall be in Prince George's County six (6)
Road Directors, who shall together constitute the Board of
Road Directors of Prince George's Countv. Said Board shall
meet at least once a month in the Town of Upper Marlboro, in
some room in the Courthouse set apart for their use by the
Board of County Commissioners on some day to be fixed by
them, which day shall be one of the regular meeting days of
the Board of County Commissioners.

Each of said Road Directors shall have sole authority over
the actual working of the roads and the repair of bridges in
one of the Road Districts in Prince George's County, as here-
inafter set out. He shall devote his whole time to his duties,
shall give his personal supervision daily during working hours
to the management and direction of the working of his Road
District, shall take charge of the road equipment assigned to his
Road District, shall employ and discharge laborers, employing
the same by the month whenever possible and shall be responsible
for all machinery and equipment in his possession. He shall
keep in a book, to be provided for that purpose by the Board
of County Commissioners, a full, complete, accurate and easily
understood account of all money expended by him and all
charges incurred in each of the several Election Districts of
his Road District, which book shall be opened to the inspection
of any taxpaver at any reasonable time. In case any road
machinery, rollers, carts, wagons, mules, plows, scrapers, or
other things necessary to properly work the roads and build
bridges and culverts are needed in any of the Road Districts
hereinafter created, or in case any of the equipment in use in
said Districts can profitably be disposed of, the Road Director
in charge of such District shall have power to purchase or sell
the same and apportion the cost thereof or the receipts there-
from to the several Election Districts in which the same is to be
used or has been used.
