SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall

Chapter 81.
AN ACT to authorize the county commissioners
of Caroline county to pay Luther H. Gadd,
clerk of the circuit court for Caroline county,
a sum of money for indexing certain records
in said county.
WHEREAS by an act of the General Assembly

of Maryland passed at January session, eighteen
hundred and eighty-six, chapter two hundred
and eighty-four, the county commissioners of
Caroline county were authorized and directed
to pay the clerk of the circuit court for Caro-
line county for indexing certain records in the
office of the clerk of the circuit court of said
county, and whereas the said clerk has com-
pleted said index, and in calculating the work
of indexing at the rates allowed by law there
remains due and unpaid the sum of nine hun-
dred and eighty-seven dollars and seventy-five
cents, therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As-

sembly of Maryland, That the county commis-
sioners of Caroline county are hereby author-
ized and directed to levy on the assessable
property of said county the sum of nine hundred
and eighty-seven dollars and seventy-five cents,
and they are hereby authorized and directed to
pay the aforesaid sum to Luther H. Gadd for
indexing as above mentioned.
