Duty of Judge
to commit.

best promoted by such course, it shall be the
duty of such court or judge to commit such
minor to the care and custody of any chari-
table, reformatory or other institution for the
care and custody of minors, incorporated under
the laws of this state, subject to the discipline,
regulations and powers of such institution ; and
any court or judge disposing of the custody of
a minor upon habeas corpus may retain juris-
diction over such minor, and may make such
other and further orders in relation to the care
and custody of such minor as circumstances
may require.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That, this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

Chapter 80.

AN ACT to extend "An act of the General
Assembly of Maryland, chapter two hundred
and seventy -seven, passed at the January
session, eighteen hundred and eighty, and also
to authorize a reduction of the capital of the
Washington Fire Insurance Company of Bal-
timore," named therein.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-

upon the Washington Fire Insurance Company
of Baltimore by an act of the General Assembly
of Maryland, chapter two hundred and seventy-
seven, passed at the January session, eighteen
hundred and eighty, be and the same are here-

existence of the said company.
SEC 2. And be it further enacted, That the
