Chapter 494.

AN ACT to give the sanction of the General
Assembly of Maryland to the leasing of a lot
of ground at the southwest corner of Fayette
and Fremont streets, in the city of Baltimore,
by the Westminster Presbyterian congrega-
tion, in the city of Baltimore, and to the re-
demption by the said Westminster Presby-
terian congregation, in the city of Baltimore of
the rent reserved in said lease ; and to sanc-
tion the acquirement and purchase of said lot
in fee simple, and the deed conveying the
same; and to sanction the purchase by the
said Westminster Presbyterian congregation,
in the city of Baltimore of a lot of ground on
the north side of Franklin street, in the city
of Baltimore, and a release of a mortgage to
the same when hereafter made.

WHEREAS by indenture bearing date the
eighteenth of May, A. D. eighteen hundred and
sixty-eight, and recorded among the land
records of Baltimore city in liber G. R., num-
ber three hundred and seventy-six, folio two
hundred and twelve, &c., Joseph Baugher and
wife did lease unto the Westminster Presbyte-

rian congregation, in the city of Baltimore, the
lot of ground southwest corner of Fayette and
Fremont streets, in the city of Baltimore, in said
indenture particularly described, for the term
and at the rent in said indenture set forth, with
the right of redemption within a certain period
expressed in said lease ; and whereas by deed
in fee bearing date April twenty-seventh,
A. D. eighteen hundred , and seventy-one,
and recorded among the land records of Bal-
timore city in liber G. R., number five 'hun-
dred and eleven, folio three hundred and eleven,
&c., said Joseph Baugher and wife conveyed
unto the said Westminster Presbyterian con-
gregation, in the city of Baltimore, the rent
reserved in said lease and said lot in fee
simple ; and whereas the said Westminster Pres-
