SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 549.
AN ACT to amend Chapter 705 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland, passed at the January session, 1892,
entitled "An Act to incorporate the Baltimore, East Balti-
more and North Point Railroad Company."

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That the company hereby
incorporated shall have the power to make and construct a rail-
road with a single or double track and sidings, as they may
deem expedient for the transportation of passengers and
freight, by horse, traction or electrical power, from Reeler's
Pavilion in Baltimore county, beginning for the same at or
near the water on Bear creek or North Point road, and run-
ning along the North Point road as the company may deem
tit, to the terminus of the shell road in a westerly direction to
the Mt. Carmel road, or to connect between O'Donnell and
Monument streets, in Baltimore city, or to such other place or
places as may be deemed most advantageous to the interests of
the company; provided, however, that nothing in this section
or act contained shall authorize said company to use steam
motive power on the said railroad or any part thereof, or any
larger motor, cars or carriages thereon than such as are usual,
and at the time being permitted in the city of Baltimore on
street railroads in said city; and provided further, that in con-
structing its said railroad the said company shall lay its said
track or tracks on the margin or margins or centres of said
streets, avenues or county roads, and in such manner as not to
