SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all acts or parts of acts
inconsistent with the provisions of this act, be and the same
are hereby repealed.

Repeal.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted. That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 550.

AN ACT to add three additional sections to Article 4, of the
Code of Public Local Laws, title "City of Baltimore," sub-
title "Railroads," to come immediately after Section 769 and
to be known as Sections 769 A, 769 B and 769 C, respectively.

Effective.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That three additional sections be and the same are
hereby added to article four, Public Local Laws, title " City of
Baltimore," sub-title "Railroads," to be known as sections
769 A, 769 B and 769 C, respectively, to come immediately after
section 769, and to read as follows :

New sections.

769 A. The park commission, or any agent or agents of the
said commission, authorized in writing by a certificate signed
by the president and secretary thereof, shall have authority and
power from time to time, and at any time the said park com-
mission sees fit, to make examination of the books, accounts
and car fare registers of any or all of the street railway com-
panies in the city of Baltimore, for the purpose of satisfying
said park commission that returns of the " park tax " are
fairly and correctly made by said companies, and by each and
every one of them; and any street railway company whose
officers shall neglect or refuse, on demand of said park commis-
sion, to permit the said park commission or any agent or
agents of said commission authorized in writing as above pre-
scribed, to at any time inspect its said books, accounts and car
fare registers or any of them, shall forfeit and pay a fine of one
hundred dollars for each and every day it shall so neglect or
refuse to comply with such demand; said penalty to be col-
