bonds of conveyance and bills of sale, which have been
executed subsequent to the passage of the Act of the Gen-
eral Assembly of Maryland, passed at the January Session,
1858, Chapter 208, and which have not been acknowledged
and recorded according to the laws existing at the time of
said execution, or where the certificate of acknowledgment is
not in the prescribed form, shall be and the same are hereby
made valid as between the parties thereto and their privies,
to all intents and purposes as if acknowledgment and cer-
tificate thereof had been made in accordance with the law
existing at the time of their making, and as if the same had
been duly recorded; provided, the said deeds, mortgages,
bonds of conveyance and bills of sale in other respects are

in conformity with the laws; and provided further, that
nothing in this section shall affect the interest of bona fide.
purchasers or creditors, without notice, who may have
become so previous to the passage of this Act.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 784.
AN ACT to declare the sanction and assent of the General
Assembly of Maryland to the several devises and bequests
contained in the last will and testament of Sallie Long-
well, late of Carroll County, deceased.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

land, That the sanction and assent of the General Assembly
of Maryland be and the same is hereby declared, given and
granted to the several devises and bequests made by and
contained in the last will and testament of Sallie Longwell,
late of Carroll county, deceased, dated the 25th day of
August, A. D. 1899, duly probated in the Orphans' Court
for Carroll county, and now of record in the office of the
register of wills for said county, to wit :
(A) To the legacy of $2,000 to the trustees of Piney
Creek Presbyterian Church of Taneytown district, in Carroll
county, Maryland.
(B) To the legacy of $2,000 to the trustees of Taneytown
Presbyterian Church of Taneytown, Carroll county, Mary-
land.

etc.,
