LAWS OF MARYLAND.

William R. Lashore, Thomas H. Humphreys, John R. Botter,
Louis Pestel, Robert M. Brown, William G. Miller, James
Kelley, George W. Ellender, William M. Dunn, James T. Elliott
and Benjamin T. Wirts.

Annual
salary.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That each of the said
members shall be paid an annual salary of four hundred dol-
lars, payable monthly, so long as they remain on the said re-
tired list, for the performance of such duties as may be assigned
to them by order of said Board of Fire Commissioners of Bal-
timore city.

Appropria-
tion.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That for the purpose
of carrying out the provisions of the foregoing sections of this
act, the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore city, be and are
hereby authorized and directed to appropriate annually such
sums of money as may be necessary to pay the compensation
of each and every one of the said retired members of the fire
department, who shall be entitled under the terms of the fore-
going sections of this act.

Effective.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 335.

AN ACT to authorize the Baltimore and Washington Transit
Company to employ electricity as a motive power, and to
make its charter perpetual.

May use elec-
tricity.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land That the Baltimore and Washington Transit Company
of Maryland be, and is hereby authorized to employ electricity
as a motive power.

Perpetual
existence.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the said company
shall have perpetual existence and succession.

Effective

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this act shall take
effect from and after its passage.
