LLOYD LOWNDES, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR.

Assembly of Maryland, entitled an Act to repeal and re-
enact Chapter 152 of the Acts passed at the January Session,
1878, entitled an Act to repeal Chapter 429 of the Acts
passed at the January Session, 1874, entitled a supplement to
an Act entitled an Act to incorporate a company to construct
a turnpike road from Hagerstown, in Washington county, to
the town of Sharpsburg, passed at the January Session, 1 853,
Chapter 129, by adding an additional section to said Chapter
98, Act of 1892, to be known and designated as Section 3 A."

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That chapter 98 of the acts of the General Assembly of
Maryland, passed at the January session, 1892, be amended by
the addition of a section to be known and designated as section
3 A, and to read as follows :

New section.

SEC. 3 A. And be it enacted, That it shall be lawful for the
Hagerstown and Sharpsburg Turnpike Company, and said com-
pany to that effect is hereby authorized and empowered to con-
demn for the purpose of a toll-gate and toll-gate house one
square acre of ground on either side of and in juxtaposition
to its present roadbed at any point between where the road
known as the College road, and the road known as the Manor
road or Downsville Turnpike road joins with the road of the
Hagerstown and Sharpsburg Turnpike Company, and the man-
ner of their procedure shall be the same as that laid down and
prescribed for the condemnation of property by corporations,
article 23, sections 248 to 254, inclusive, of the Code of Public
General Laws of Maryland.

from the date of its passage.

807 of Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title
"City of Baltimore," sub-title "Streets, Bridges and High-
ways."
