same is hereby appropriated out of any money in the Treasury
not otherwise appropriated, to pay for said copies; and the
Comptroller of the Treasury is hereby authorized and directed
to issue his warrant to the Treasurer for such sum, not exceed-
ing two hundred dollars, as the Commissioner of the Land
Office shall certify to be due for making said copies; provided
the same be done in a manner satisfactory to the said commis-
sioner.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 19.
AN ACT to add an additional section to the Code of Public
General Laws of Maryland, Article 53, title "Landlord and
Tenant," to be known as Section 28.

New section.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the following section be and hereby is added to
Article 53 of the Code of Public General Laws of the State
of Maryland, title "Landlord and Tenant," to be known as
section 28.
|
|
|
Covenant in
lease.
|
28. A covenant or promise by the lessee to lease, restore,
surrender or yield up the premises in good repair, shall not
have the effect to bind him to erect similar buildings or pay
for such buildings, as may be destroyed by fire or otherwise
without negligence or fault on his part, unless otherwise
expressly provided by written agreement or covenant, that he
should be so bound.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
