22 THIRTIETH ANNUAL REPORT
from the last of the eighteenth and the early nineteenth centuries.
From now on seventeenth century items will continue to be scarce
because those that are available have all been laminated and rebound.
Many mountings for etchings and photographs were prepared by
the staff of the Repair Room for the Francis B. Mayer exhibit, and
there was an unusually large number of photostats for our collection
which needed trimming. It was a successful year for our two Repair
Room workers.
PHOTODUPLICATION
The tabular account of our photoduplication activities includes
all the activity of the photographic laboratory at the Hall of Records
proper and its two members of the staff. It does not include the
work done in the Records Centers in Annapolis and in Baltimore,
where all of our 16 mm microfilming is done. Statistics on the work
accomplished in these Records Centers are given in "Records Manage-
ment Division" in this report.
The work at the Hall of Records is primarily archival work and is
confined to photostating, microfilming, and projection printing. It was
a good year, both of our operators were well and one of them was in
the field almost continuously.
