10 FOURTEENTH ANNUAL REPORT

The first appropriation for the Maryland Manual was made in order
to permit the printing of a revised edition of the 1948-1949 volume. The
second smaller appropriation was made when it was decided that the Hall
of Records would be permanently entrusted with the Manual. It was
thought worthwhile, therefore, to retain the services of the person who
had assisted in the publication of the first edition.

The supplemental appropriation for salaries was granted in order to
implement certain salary increases which the Standard Salary Board
approved as of November 1, 1948.

During the fiscal year 1949, we carried over $887.50 from 1947
Budget Item No. 208A. Of this amount $200.00 was expended for copies
of the Maryland Manual and $687.50 was expended for the printing of
Maryland Flag Folders.

We also carried over $1,900.00 from 1948 Budget Item No. 208A.
This sum was expended for the printing of Publication No. 6.
