On motion of Mr. Compton,

The bill was then re-committed to the committee on Claims
and the Special Committee on Mileage, as a joint special com-
mittee.

Mr. Maxwell offered the following :

Ordered, That his Excellency, the Governor, be and he is
hereby respectfully requested to inform this House, whether
the steamer Pioneer was employed or authorized by his order
to bring the Eastern Shore members to Baltimore city, on
their way to attend the meeting of the General Assembly.

Which was adopted.
Mr. Sangston presented :

A Memorial from citizens of Baltimore city, in regard to

re-opening the various channels of trade and communications.

Which was referred to the committee on Federal Relations.

Mr. Burgess, Chairman of Special Committee, made the
following report:

The joint committee of the Senate and House of Delegates
appointed to take into consideration the Mileage of the mem-
bers of the General Assembly attending the present session,
