SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That in case of
dispute between the purchaser and seller of
any lot of fire-wood, the Measurer or his
Deputy, appointed under this act, may act as
arbitrator between said parties, and his deci-

sion shall be final; for which services he shall
receive the sum of six and a-quarter cents for
each cord of wood so inspected and measured
by him, to be paid by the party or parties at
whose request said service was performed, the
said Measurer or Deputy to give a certificate
of the number of cords contained in each lot.

To settle dis-
putes.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That all acts and
parts of acts inconsistent with this act be and
the same are hereby repealed.

Repeal.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 316.
AN ACT requiring the Baltimore & Ohio Rail-
road Company to keep a flagman or signal-
man stationed during certain hours of each
and every day at the crossing of the Metro-
politan Branch of the Baltimore & Ohio Rail-
road over Frederick avenue, and also one at
the crossing of said railroad over Chestnut
street in the town of Gaithersburg, in Mont-
gomery county.
WHEREAS it is represented to this General As-
sembly of Maryland that the crossing of the
Metropolitan Branch of the Baltimore & Ohio
