due to mature during the year 1933, evidencing the floating
indebtedness of said County, as follows:

$400, 000. 00 principal amount of notes, dated April 1,

1932. due April 1, 1933;
50, 000. 00 principal amount of notes, dated January 27,

1933. due April 25, 1933;
100, 000. 00 principal amount of notes, dated November

1, 1932, due May 1, 1933;
200, 000. 00 principal amount of notes, dated May 9,

1932, due May 9, 1933;
and

WHEREAS, it is desirable to refund the amount of said
notes through the issue and sale of coupon bonds as
promptly as possible, but owing to the unprecedented finan-
cial situation now prevailing, it may be necessary to post-
pone the issuing of coupon bonds, and temporarily to issue
and sell notes of shorter maturity; therefore:

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the County Commissioners of Anne Arun-
del County be and they hereby are authorized and empow-
ered to borrow on the faith and credit of said County such
sum or sums at any time and from time to time, not later
than June 1, 1935, but not exceeding in the aggregate
$750, 000. 00 at any one time outstanding, as they, in their
discretion, may deem necessary to provide money for the
payment or refunding from time to time of the floating
indebtedness of Anne Arundel County now evidenced by
the notes of the County Commissioners of Anne Arundel
County in the aggregate amount of $750, 000. 00 maturing,
according to their terms, during the year 1933.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That said County
Commissioners of Anne Arundel County be and they here-
by are authorized and empowered either to issue the notes
of said County for the sums so borrowed under the provi-
sions of this Act at any time and from time to time in such
form as they may determine or to issue coupon bonds there-
for as they may, in their sole discretion, consider to be for
the best interests of the people of Anne Arundel County.
In the event said County Commissioners of Anne Arundel
County elect at any time to issue notes for the sum so bor-
rowed, then said notes shall be signed by the President of
the County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County and
shall be countersigned by the Clerk to said Commissioners;
