or more fire houses; to acquire by purchase or otherwise
fire fighting apparatus and equipment; to install fire alarms,
telephones, radios, telegraph instruments and other means
of communication; to acquire equipment for the purpose
of saving human life from loss by fire, downing or other
accident; to report the financial condition thereof annually
to the Board of County Commissioners of said county; to
made contracts for necessary supplies of all kinds; to em-
ploy firemen; to insure said corporation, and its property
against loss by reason of accident or actions at law for
damages, and to insure also the members of said auxiliary
organization and the widows or/and the dependent next of
kin of said members against loss by reason of accidental
injury or death; to accept gifts or bequests of money or
property; to build up a capital fund; that said Board of
Directors shall organize by electing from the members
thereof a president, two vice-presidents, a secretary, a
treasurer and an executive committee; that the persons so
elected shall be officers of said corporation; that said Board
shall fill any vacancy in any office or any vacancy on said
Board, provided, however, that due regard be shown to the
geographical distribution of said Board members; that said
Board of Directors shall be made up of three members
elected from candidates at large in said area, and one mem-
ber from each of the several communities in the said area,
to wit: The Town of Glen Echo, Incorporated; Mohican
Hills, situate in the northwestern portion of Glen Echo
Heights, and comprising the lots bordering on Mohican
Road, Wiscassatt Road, Dahlonega Road and Sciota Road
as per plat of said Glen Echo Heights recorded in Plat
Book Number 1, Folio Number 44 and folio Number 45 of
the land records of Montgomery County aforesaid; Glen
Echo Heights, other than the said portion covered by said
Mohican Hills; as per plats of said Glen Echo Heights
aforesaid; Brookmont, as per plat of said Brookmont re-
corded in Plat Book 4, Page 305, of the land records of said
county; Crest View, as per plat of said Crest View recorded
in Plat Book Number 3 on page 31, of the land records of
said County; and American University Park, as per plat of
said American University Park recorded in Plat Book
Number 1, Page 31, of the land records of said County;
who shall be elected from a group who may be nominated
as candidates for the several said communities; that a can-
didate at large shall be a qualified voter in said area, and
shall be nominated by petition in writing, of 40 or more
qualified voters in said area; that a candidate from any one
of the communities aforesaid shall be a qualified voter resi-
