tion of the membership on said Board of Directors
among the communities of said area; to authorize and
empower the County Commissioners of said county to
make special annual levies of not more than ten cents
on each $100 of the assessable value of the real and per-
sonal property within said area for the purpose of estab-
lishing, equipping, maintaining, and operating the said
Conduit Road Fire Board, Incorporated, including the
purchase of real estate, the erection of buildings, and
the payment of salaries of firemen; also to provide for
the manner in which the number of cents on each $100
of the assessable values of the said real and personal
property within said area to be levied each year may be
determined, and to authorize the said tax collecting au-
thorities for said county to pay over to the said Con-
duit Road Fire Board, Incorporated, or its successor or
successors, the funds resulting from the tax so levied
and collected for disbursements for said purpose.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the citizens of a certain area situate in
Montgomery County and State of Maryland, hereinafter
more particularly defined, for the purpose of enabling said
citizens to enjoy protection from fire and other dangers,
hereby are created a body corporate and shall be known
as and by the name and style of the Conduit Road Fire
Board, Incorporated; that said corporation shall have all
the powers and privileges of a body politic and corporate,
and by said corporate name may have perpetual succes-
sion, sue and be sued, plead and be impleaded, in any court
of law or equity and may have and use a common seal; that
the affairs of said corporation shall be managed by a Board
of Directors; that said Board of Directors shall exercise all
the powers hereinbefore and hereinafter granted to said
corporation except the power to nominate and elect the
members of said Board of Directors, provided, however,
that nothing herein shall prevent said Board of Directors
from filling a vacancy on said Board; that said Board of
Directors shall be elected as hereinafter prescribed; that
said corporation also shall have power; to cause to be or-
ganized one or more volunteer fire fighting companies, aux-
iliary to said corporation, to approve or disapprove the
officers thereof, to make rules to govern same, and to main-
tain discipline therein; to make, alter and amend by-laws,
rules and regulations for said corporation; to take title to
real estate, and to alienate same; to borrow money and to
secure the payment thereof; to build, alter and improve one
