of schools and/or for the current expenses of the County,
and to issue a note or notes therefor, provided, however,
that not more than One Hundred and Fifty Thousand
Dollars ($150, 000. 00) borrowed hereunder shall be out-
standing at any one time; to provide for the payment of
interest on said note or notes and the redemption thereof
at maturity by taxes levied upon all the assessable prop-
erty in said County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Chapter 305 of the Acts of 1927 and Chap-
ter 140 of the Acts of 1931 be and they are hereby re-
pealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That three new sec-
tions be and they are hereby added to Article 24 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition),
title "Worcester County, " sub-title "County Commission-
ers, " said new sections to be known as Sections 63A, 63B
and 63C, to follow immediately after Section 63 of said
Article, and to read as follows:

63A. Whenever, from time to time, the amount of taxes
collected in Worcester County shall be insufficient for the
maintenance and current expenses of public schools of
said County and/or insufficient to meet the current ex-
penses of said County, the County Commissioners of Wor-
cester County are hereby authorized and empowered to
borrow on the faith and credit of said County for the
maintenance and current expenses of the schools and/or
for the current expenses of the County, for a period of
time not to exceed six months, a sum of money not to ex-
ceed One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollars ($150, -
000. 00), and to issue for said indebtedness the note or notes
of the said County Commissioners of Worcester County,
the; said note or notes to be signed by the President of the
County Commissioners of Worcester County, and counter-
signed by the Treasurer of said County, and to bear in-
terest from the date of their issuance at a rate not exceed-
ing six per centum per annum;, provided,, however, that not
more; than One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollars
($150, 000. 00) of said note or notes shall be outstanding at
any one time.

63B. The said County Commissioners of Worcester
County are hereby authorized and empowered to sell the
