CHAPTER 25.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 21 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Talbot
County", sub-title "Easton", said new section to be known
as Section 188, and to follow immediately after Section 187
of said Article, providing that owners of real property
within the corporate limits of the Town of Easton shall keep
same in a neat, safe and sanitary condition, and authorizing
the Mayor and Council of said Town to clean up such prop-
erty if the owner fails to do so and make the cost thereof a
lien upon the real property involved.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
21 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edi-
tion), title "Talbot County", sub-title "Easton", said new sec-
tion to be known as Section 188, to follow immediately after
Section 187 of said Article, and to read as follows:

188. All real estate within the corporate limits of the Town
of Easton shall be kept in a neat, safe and sanitary condition
and all such property shall be kept clear of high grass and
weeds. In the event that any owner of real property within
the corporate limits of the Town of Easton shall fail to so keep
said premises and after written notice from the Mayor and
Council of Easton for a period of ten days, after said notice,
fail to remedy said condition, the Mayor and Council of Easton
shall have authority to have the condition remedied and the
cost and expense thereby incurred, shall be and constitute a
lien upon the real property upon which said work is done and
said real property may be sold to satisfy said lien or liens.
The sale of such real property shall be advertised and made
by the Town Clerk in the same way and manner as is now
provided for the sale of real property by said Clerk for the
payment of taxes, with an allowance of the same fees as pro-
vided for such tax sales.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1937.
