sub-title "Easton", providing the required qualifications and
compensation for the Mayor and the members of the Coun-
cil of Easton and the appointive power of the Mayor.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 154, 155 and 160 of Article 21 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Tal-
bot County", sub-title "Easton", be, and the same are hereby
repealed and re-enacted with amendments so as to read as
follows:

154. The Mayor shall be a person of known integrity, ex-
perience and sound judgment and a qualified voter of the town
of Easton, not less than twenty-five years of age, and he must
have been a qualified voter, in one of the election precincts of
Talbot County centering in the town of Easton, for two years
next preceding the election, and for one year next preceding the
election be assessed upon the assessment books of said town
with property to the amount of not less than $500. The Presi-
dent of the Council shall be possessed of the same qualifica-
tions.

155. The Council shall consist of five members, and no one
shall be eligible to election to the Council who has not been a
resident of the town and a qualified voter in one of the election
precincts centering in the town of Easton for at least two
years next preceding his election, and a resident of the ward
for which he is elected for at least one year next preceding
Ms election, and each Councilman shall receive for his services
the sum of One Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($150. 00) per year,
and the President of the Council shall receive for his services
the sum of Two Hundred Dollars ($200. 00).

160. The Mayor, by virtue of his office, shall see that the
ordinances of the town are duly and faithfully executed; by
and with the advice and consent of the Council, he shall ap-
point a town attorney, chief of police and town clerk, and such
other officers as the ordinances of the town may provide; he
shall annually, on the first Monday in April, report to the
Council in writing the general state of the town, with an
accurate account of money received and expended, which said
report shall be published in one or more newspapers of said
town, giving a full and particular statement of all receipts and
disbursements; he shall have power to remove any of the
officers appointed by him for neglect or violation of any duties
pertaining to their respective offices, and shall appoint others
in their stead, subject to confirmation by the Council, as in
the case of original appointments; he shall have general super-
