OK motion by Mr. Sulivane,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to add a section to
the 53d Article of the Code of Public General Laws, title
"Landlord and Tenant," sub-title "Distress for Rent."

On motion by Mr. Wilson,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Chesapeake
Bay and its Tributaries to introduce a bill to be entitled an
Act to amend the 22d Section of Article 41, of the Code of
Public General Laws of Maryland, entitled "Fish and Fishe-
ries," sub-title "Patuxent," as amended by an Act passed
at the January Session, 1874, Chapter 219, by adding thereto
a sub-section.

On motion by Mr. Sulivane,

Leave was granted to the Committee in Judicial Proceedings
to introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to repeal Sections 165
and 167, of the 30th Article of the Code of Public General Laws,
title "Crimes and Punishments," sub-title "Religious Meet-
ings," and to re-enact the same with amendments.

On motion by Mr. Gorman, it was

Ordered, That the Joint Standing Committee appointed
in pursuance of Section 24, of Article 3, of the Constitution,
be, and they are hereby instructed to ascertain and report to
the two Houses of the General Assembly the amount of bonds
issued by the Annapolis and Elk Ridge Railroad Company
under the Act of 1872, Chapter 427, and to further ascertain
if the said bonds so issued have been used solely for the pur-
poses authorized by said Act, and to report what, if any, le-
gislation is necessary to secure the State's investment in said
road.

On motion by Mr. Franklin, it was

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal that Mr. Hum-
phreys is detained from his seat in the Senate by illness.

Mr. Gorman, from the Committee on Corporations, reported
favorably the following bills :

Senate bill entitled an Act to consolidate the Baltimore,
Hampden and Towsontown Railroad Company, incorporated
by the Act of 1868, Chapter 314, under the name of the Bal-
timore and Swann Lake Passenger Railroad Company, as
amended by the Act of 1874, Chapter 272, and the Baltimore,
Towsontown, Dulany's Valley and Delta Narrow Guage Rail-
way Company, as incorporated under the provisions of the
Act of 1870, Chapter 476, with powers to construct, manage
