Which was read, and referred to the Committee on the
Chesapeake Bay and its Tributaries.

Mr. Joyce presented the memorial of Kraft & Wilcox, and
others of Baltimore City, for relief from over taxation.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Fi-
nance.

On motion by Mr. McLane,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to amend Chap-
ter 242, of the Acts of 1876, entitled an Act to repeal Chapter
476, of the Acts of 1870, entitled an Act to provide for the
creation and regulation of incorporated companies in the
State of Maryland, and to enact a substitute therefor by adding
six additional sections thereto.

On motion by Mr. Bannon,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Bannon, Cooper and Hep-
bron to introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to authorize
and direct the Board of County School Commissioners of

Anne Arundel County to build two school houses for the
use of the colored children of said county.

On motion by Mr. Lancaster,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Lancaster, Hepbron and.
Combs, of St. Mary's, to introduce a bill to be entitled an
Act to repeal Section 93, of Article 9, of the Code of Public
Local Laws as amendedby Act of General Assembly of Mary-
land, Chapter 294,1870, and re enact the same with amend-
ments.

On motion by Mr. Freeman,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Temperance to in-
troduce a bill to be entitled an Act to prohibit the issuing of li-
cense for the sale of spirituous or fermented liquors or lager
beer at or within one mile of the village of Catonsville, in
Baltimore County.

On motion by Mr. Wilson,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Wilson, Newcomer and
Joyce to introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to enable the
County Commissioners of Calvert County to ascertain the
financial condition of said county, and to make provisions'
for the payment of the debts due by said county.
