Thomas Miller and Sarah his wife for and in Consideracon of the Summe or quantity of ffifteen
Thousand pounds of Tobacco to them in hand paid by the above named George Layfeild before the e(nsealing)
& delivery hereof whereof and wherewith the said Thomas Miller and Sarah his wife doth acknowledge
themselves to be fully & wholly Satisfied Contented & paid and doth of and for every part & parcell th(ereof )
acquit & dischardge the said George Layfeild his heires executors and administrators: by these presents
have given graunted bargained Sold feofed and Confirmed and doe by these presents fully & ( )
give graunt bargaine Sell allienate enfeofe and Confirme unto the above named George Layfeild
and to his heires and assignes for Ever all that three hundred acres of Land being the plantacon on which
the Said Thomas Miller now dwelleth and is a part of the above mentioned ffoure hundred & fifty (acres)
of land Called Millers Lott Together with all its Rights benefitts Priviledges and appurtenances the(reunto)
belonging or in any wise appertaining (the Cheife Lords rents alwayes excepted and fore prised
To have and to hold the aforesaid three hundred acres of land part of Millers Lott and all & (singular)
other the pr:misses hereby meant mentioned or intended to be bargained and Sold and every of the-
there and every of their appurtenances unto him the Said George Layfeild and to the heires and assignes
the Said George Layfeild for Ever: without any Mortgage Condition redemption use of Limitacon to re-
alter Charge or determine the Same And the Said Thomas Miller and Sarah his wife the aforesaid three
hundred acres of Land being a part of the Land Called Millers Lott with the appurtenances before by these
presents bargained and Sold or hereby intended to be bargained & Sold unto him the said George Layfeild
for Ever freely acquitt and dischardge the Same of and from all & all manner of former & other bargains
graunts Sales forfeitures Dowries Joyntures Surrenders and of and from all other Titles Incumbrances
Claimes and demands whatsoever Claiming by from or under the Said Thomas Miller & Sarah his
wife their or either of their heires executors or assignes or any of them Shall & will for Ever hereafter
warrant & defend by these presents In Witnes whereof the Said Thomas Miller & Sarah his wife S-

Memorandum That this day to witt the Twenty third day of Aprill in the Second year of the
Reigne of our Soveraigne Lord & Lady King William and Queene Mary over England &c Annoqr:(Dom)
1690 before us ffrancis Jenckins and Edmund Howard Two of theire Maties: Justices for Sommersett
County Came Thomas Miller and Sarah his wife parties to the within Indenture in their proper
persons and the Said Sarah being by the Said Justices alone and Secretly examined according to
forme of Certaine Act of Assembly in that Case made and provided Did acknowledge the three hundred
acres of Land part of the ffoure hundred and fifty acres of Land Called Millers Lott in the within
written Indenture mentioned to be the right of him the within Named George Layfeild as that w-
he the Said George hath of the guift of them the Said Thomas & Sarah his wife and the said Thomas
& Sarah for them and their heires and the heires of the Said Sarah hath remitted and made quitt Claim
thereof to the Said George & his heires for Ever and further the Said Thomas and Sarah hath graunted
for them and their heires and all & every the heires of the said Sarah that the Said Three hundred acres
of Land within Mentioned unto him the said George Layfeild and his heires against them the Said
Thomas and Sarah & their heires and all & every the heires of the Said Sarah they will warrant for(ever)
(except as in the within written Indenture excepted) and for this acknowledgement quitt Claime & agree
the Said George Layfeild hath given them the Said Thomas Miller and Sarah his wife ffifteen Thousand
pounds of good Marchantable Tobacco ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
