27 all the Title of Dower of the Said Margaret thereunto: and Service from henceforth Shall be free & payable to the C-- Lord or Lords of y fee or ffees of y pr:misses onely excepted & foreprized And further the said John Rowell for himselfe his heires executors and administrators and for the Said Margaret his wife doth Covenant grant & agree to and with the Sd John Atkins his heires and assignes by these presents That he the Sd: John Rowell & Margarett his wife & their heires and all other person or persons whatsoever any estate haveing or Lawfully Claiming in or to the pr:misses or any part thereof by from or undr: them or other of them Shall & will at any time hereafter duering the Space of Eleaven years from henceforth to be (accounted) at the reasonable request & at the Cost & Charges in the Law of the said John Atkins make & grant Such further & other assurance & assurances and Conveyances in the Law for the further & more perfect assuring & Conveying the said pr:misses to him the Sd: John Atkins & his heires as by him or his heires or theire Councell Learned in the Law Shall be reasonably devised or advised and required be it by fine feofement recovery release Confirmation or by acknowledgemt & enrollment of these presents or otherwise In Witness whereof the parties aforesaid to these the day and year first above written / ~ Sealed & delivered in y presence John Rowell (Sealed of us Walter Lane her John Lane Margaret Rowell MR (Sealed marke Memorandum That this day to witt the Eleaventh day of June in the Second year of theire Royall Maties. Reigne William & Mary by the grace of God of England Scotland ffrance & Ireland King & Queene defendrs: of the faith &c and in the year of our Lord God one Thousand Six hundred & Ninety Came Jno Rowell & Margaret his wife before us ffrancis Jenckins & Samuell Hopkins Two of their Maties Justices of y peace for Somr:Sett County in the Province of Maryland & acknowledged the within written Land and pr:missesCalled Adams Garden to be the right of him the within named John Atkins to him & his heires & assignes for Ever The Said Margarett being apart & privately examined Did acknowledge the Same before the Said Justices to be of her owne voluntary will & assent ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ examined & taken before us the day & year above mentioned Recd. the fine of allienacon on this ffrancis Jenckins Conveyance from Jno.Atkins for one Samll: Hopkins hundred acres of land Called Adams Garden according to Act of Assembly pr Wm: Brereton Sheriffe Intr. the 28th: June 1690 pr me Edm: Beauchamp Cler Cur This Indenture made the Seaventeenth day of July in the xiiiith: year of the Dominion of the Rt: honr: ble Charles absolute Lord and Proprietary of the Province of Maryland & Avalon Lord Barron of Baltemore &c and in the year of our Lord God one thousand Six hundred Eighty and Nine Betweene Elizabeth Stevens widowe of Sommersett County & Province of Maryland of the one Part And George Trewett of the County & Province aforesaid plantr: of the other Part Witnesseth That whereas the Rt honr:ble his Lordshipp aforesaid by his deed of grant under y great Seale used in the Said Province aforesaid for granting of Land there bearing date at y Citty of St: Maryes y Twenty S - day of october in the Eight year of his Lopps: Dominion one Thousand Six hundred Seaventy & Nine for the Consideracon therein therein mentioned Did grant unto William Stevens of Sommersett County & Province aforesaid gentl: all that parcell Tract or devident of land Called Mulberey Grove Now This Indenture further Witnesseth That the Said Elizabeth Stevens for and in Consideracon of the Summe of one & Twenty Thousand pounds of Tobacco to her in hand paid by the Said George Truit before the ensealing & delivery of these presents y receipt whereof the Sd: Elizabeth Stevens hereby acknowledge & thereof & of every part & parcell thereof doe discharge him the Said George Truitt his executrs. and administratrs: by these presents doe give grant aliene Sell enfeofe & Confirme unto the Said George Truitt his heires & assignes for Ever part of the said parcell tract & devident of Land Lieing and being on the east Side of Chesepeake bay on the SouthSide of Pocomoke river bounds as ffolloweth beginning a marked Chessnutt oake Standing on the South Side of a fresh water Runn near the head of the said runn by a path Side thence with a Line drawn west South west Twenty perches thence with a Line drawne South South ( ) Eighty perches thence with a Line drawne west by South thirty foure perches to a marked white oake Standing on the brough of a hill or Side of a banke by a marsh on the North Side of a path near the said river it being a former line deviding from y land of John Godden thence with a Line for Length into the woods South Two hundred Seaventy four perches to a marked white oake Standing on the northermost Side of a branch trending Easterly thence with a Line drawne South east one hundred & fifty perches till it Interceedeth y head Line or Eastermost bounder of the aforesaid |
