( 102 ) This Indenture made the Second day of July in ye 3d. year of or Soveraign Lord and Lady William and Mary by the grace of God of England Scotland ffrance & Ireland King & Queen defenders of the faith &c And in the year of our Lord God One thousand six hundred and Ninety One.Between Elizabeth: Pool Widdow the relict of Thomas: Pool late of the County of Somerset in the Province of Maryland Gent. John: Pool. Sonne and Heir of the said Thomas Pool Planter and Mathewe his wife of the One parties and Hannah: Carpenter the wife of Nicholas Carpenter of the aforesd County of Somerset & Province of Maryland Planter of the other part Wittnesseth that whereas the Lord Baltimore by his Deed of grant under the great Seal used in the sd Province of Maryland for granting of Land there bearing date at St. Maries the 28th day of June in the fifth yeare of his said Lopps.Dominion Annoq Dom 1680: did for the Consideration therein mentioned grant unto Randall Revell of Somerset County Gent All that percell of Land Called double purchase being resurveyed Scituate lying & being in Somerset County on the South side of Monokin River bounded as followeth. Begining at a Marked great Cedar Standing on a percel of Land called Raccown point bounded on the Northern & Northerne parts by Manokin River, runing up the side of the said River and bounded thereby to the mouth of a Branch or forke of the sd River Called Trading Branch alias Mudford, thence for the Eastern bounds with a line drawne South, One hundred and twenty pearches, and from thence with a line drawne South A quarter of a point westerly eight hundred & fourty pearches to a Small point of Land on the North side of a Creek of the foresd River Called Back Creek, and for the Southerne bounds bounded downe the side of the sd Back Creek to y mouth thereof to the aforesaid marked Cedar point,Three thousand Acres more or less, One other tract of Land Contained in the same Pattent of the aforesd Tract bounded as followeth. Begining at a Marked Oake Standing by a Beaver Dam branch, which sd Branch is the head of Back Creek being a Corner tree of a percell of Land formerly Surveyed for y Said Randall Revell and Alexander Draper, thence for the Southerne bounds running downe the Northside of the sd Branch and back Creek bounded by the sd branch & Back Creek to the Eastermost bounds of the aforesd percell of Land called double purchase resurveyed as aforesd, thence for the Northerne bounds with a line drawne North a quarter of a point Eastwardly eight hundred & fourty pearches. thence with a line drawn North One hundred and twenty pearches to the mouth of trading Branch. alias Mudford, and for the Northerne bounds bounded up the South side of the sd trading - branch by the sd trading branch to a Marked Spanish Oake standing on the Eastermost Side of a Small Branch that trecheth Southerly out of the sd tradeing branch being another Corner tree of the aforesd.percell of Land -- Surveyed for the sd Revell and Draper. And from thence with a right line drawn to the first bounder containing and laid out for two thousand eight hundred Acres more or less, in all five thousand eight hundred Acres more or less. together with all rights, proffitts and benefitts thereunto belonging Royall mines excepted. To have and to hold the same to him the sd Randall Revell his Heirs and Assigns for ever, for & under Divers & Severall y Rents & reservations and Services as in the sd recited Deed of grant is reserved. And whereas afterwards vizt the five and twentieth day of ffebruary in the sixth year of the Dominion of the Rt. Honrble Charles Lord Barron of Baltimore &c. over Maryland &c. Annoq Dom. 1681. The sd Randall Revell for divers Considerations him thereunto moveing & more espetially for and in Consideration of five thousand pounds of tobacco in hand paid by the sd Thomas: Pool the receipts whereof the sd Randall Revell did then acknowledge and thereof acquit & discharge the sd Thomas: Pool and his Heirs for ever, did give grant alien, Sell enfoeffe & confirme unto the sd Thomas: Poole his Heirs and Assignes for ever a part or percell of Land taken out of the two thousand eight hundred acres before recited, bounded as followeth, begining at a marked red Oake, Standing by the Bridge, & from thence running up the North side Back Creek maine branch & Beaver Dams to a marked white Oake standing by the way through ye Swamp from thence running with a pertition Line of the midway Cross the Neck & running Westerly. |
