( 103 ) Parralel lines to the Course on the Branch Side till it intersect a North line drawne from a White Oake at the head of parting branch. thence with a line drawne South to the said White Oake at parting branch, and from thence bounded downe the sd branch to the first bounder, Containing by Estimation Two hundred fourty five Acres more or less as the same is Scituate lying & being in a Devident or Tract of Land by the Natives called Arracocoe and is now called wellcome, and bounded on the South Side of Monokin River, To have and to hold the said percell of Land Called Welcome, and all and Singular the premises mentioned to be bargained & Sold & every of them with the appurtenances unto him the said Thomas: Poole his Heirs and Assigns for ever, as in and by the said ffeoffment recourse being thereunto had, more fully and more at large it may and doth appear being duely Executed & enrolled, as will find amongst the Records in Somerset County Lib: M: A: fo. 489. by which device The sd Thomas: Poole became posessed of an estate of inheritance in fee simple in the sd Land to him his Heirs and Assigns for ever, qt. 245. Acres called Wellcome, and Since the date of the sd Record for the same (viz) on the twentieth day of March & in the year of our Lord God One thousand Six hundred eighty and five, The sd Thomas Poole and Elizabeth his wife by their Certain Deed of Indenture duely executed & enrolled in Somerset County & there remaining on Record, did alienate feofe and confirme unto Hannah: Carpenter ye wife of Nicholas Carpenter of Somerset County Planter, to her, her Heirs and Assigns for ever, a part or percell of the wthin mentioned Land called Welcome, for and in Consideration of Six thousand pounds of tobacco to them in hand pd, being then fully Satisfied with the severall provisoes in the sd deed mentioned bounded as followeth Begining at a Marked live Oake Standing by the Swamp side a litle below the Cow Bridge, thence running into the woods North North east to a marked red Oake, from thence running the same to a marked Gum, And from thence to a marked Red Oake North, and from thence into the woods, due North half through the Neck, from thence with a headline East for breadth Sixty five poles, from thence with a line drawne South, to a marked white Oake Standing Standing by the dam Side from thence downe the said Dam, to the first bounder Called free purchase Conta. by estimation One hundred Acres more or less, togeather with all its rights proffits priveledges and benifitts thereunto belonging to have & to hold the same to her the said Hannah: Carpenter & to her Heirs & Assigns for ever, by which device the said Hannah Carpenter became posessed of the sd Land Called ffree purchase, of an estate of Inheritance in ffee Simple.Now this Indenture further wittnesseth that they the sd Eliz: Poole. John: Poole & Mathew his wife for divers valuable - Considerations on them thereunto moving,&espetially for and in Consideration of eight thousand pounds of tobacco to them in hand paid by the within named Hannah Carpentner, the receit whereof, & of every part & percell thereof they the said Eliz: Poole, John: Poole & Mathewe his wife doth acknowledge & thereof & of every part & percelle thereof, doe hereby exonerate, acquitt & discharge the sd Hannah: Carpenter her Heirs and Assigns for ever by these presents, have given, granted, bargained, Sold, aliened, ffeofed and Confirmed, and by these presents for them Selves their Heirs, Execcuters & Admrs doe freely & absolutely, give grant, alien Sell, enfeoffe & Confirm unto her the sd Hannah Carpenter her Heirs and Assigns a part or percell of Land, taken out of the sd tract of Land Called welcome bounded as followeth, begining at a marked Hiccory, Standing by the main branch of back Creek, on the Eastermost Side of a Small branch deriving from the sd Main branch So runing its Course with a North parralel line quite through the Land of the sd Pools Called Wellcome Conta. by estimation fifty Acres more or less & is now Called addition to free purchase, Togeather with all priveledges thereunto belonging Royall mines excepted. To have and to hold the said fifty Acres of Land and premises Called addition to free purchase with the Appurtenances herein or hereby mentioned or intended to be bargained and Sold unto her the said Hannah: Carpenter her Heirs and Assigns to the Only propper use and behoof of her the Said Hannah: Carpenter her Heirs & Assigns |
