Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal chapter 485, of
the Acts of 1890, to incorporate a company to con-
struct a turnpike road from Hagerstown to Sharps-
burg, and re-enact with amendments.
Which was read a first time, and referred to the
Washington County Delegation.
Also,
Senate bill entitled an Act to extend and enlarge
the privileges and powers of the Baltimore and Cum-
berland Railway Company, incorporated under and by
virtue of the General Laws of this State relating to
the formation of railroad companies, as set out in the
Maryland Code of Public General Laws of 1888,
Article 23, and all supplements thereto, the articles
of incorporation of which company have been duly
recorded in the office of the Secretary of the State of
Maryland, under the provisions of said Code of Gen-
eral Laws.
Which was read a first time, and referred to the
Committee on1 Corporations.

Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :
We propose, with the concurrence of your Honorable
Body, the appointment of a Joint Select Committee
of five, two on the part of the Senate and three on
the part of the House, to investigate and report to the
General Assembly the proceedings of the Board of
Visitors and Governors of St...John's College, and the
condition of that institution, in accordance with
Resolution No. 41 of the General Assembly of 1832.
We have named as members of said Committee on
the part of the Senate, Messrs, Gorter and Rogers.
