the aforesaid act of eighteen hundred and seventy-six, chapter


three hundred and one.


SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the said Broadway and


Locust Point steam ferry company of Maryland, be and is hereby


authorized and empowered to borrow money and issue promissory

notes, bonds or other evidences of indebtedness for the same to


the extent of fifty thousand ($50,000) dollars, and to execute and


issue a mortgage or bonds on property of said company to secure


the payment of the said promissory notes, bonds or evidences of


indebtedness.


SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the said Broadway and


Locust Point steam ferry company of Maryland is authorized and


empowered to erect and build two or more good and substantial


steam ferry boats, staunch and seaworthy and supplied according


to the laws and ordinances in such cases made and provided; to

may deem wise; to make such repairs or improvements on the


property or the line of the said ferry as they in their discretion


may deem proper, and to use the said fifty thousand ($50,000)


dollars or so much thereof as may be necessary to carry out the

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from


the date of its passage.
