CHAPTER 125.


AN ACT to reorganize and incorporate anew the


Baltimore and Potomac Railroad Company, by


that or some other name, in the event of a sale or


sales of the property and franchises of the said


company under mortgage heretofore made by it.


WHEREAS the Baltimore and Potomac Railroad


Company, a corporation existing in the State of Mary-


land, by virtue of the act of Assembly of Maryland


of eighteen hundred and fifty-three, chapter one


hundred and ninety-four, and the several supplements


and amendments thereto, has, in the execution of the


power and authority thereby vested in it, made three


several mortgages of its property and franchises to


secure the payment of bonds issued by said company


for the purpose of raising the money required for


the construction and equipment of its said railroad,

and whereas it may become necessary that the said


mortgages should be foreclosed, and the property and
franchises of said company therein embraced sold


thereunder, and whereas such sale or sales can be


made to much greater advantage if the purchaser or


purchasers of the said mortgaged property and fran-


chises are created a body corporate, with the fran-


chises, rights, powers and privileges now vested in


the said Baltimore and Potomac Railroad company,


and it will therefore be for the interest, benefit and


advantage of all parties concerned that such corpor-


ate powers shall be granted, and whereas no general


law exists in this State for the purpose sought to be
accomplished by this act, therefore


SECTION 1. Be it enacted ly the General Assem-


bly of Maryland, That in case any sale or sales shall
