1582 PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY. [ART. 17.

to be the intention and meaning of this section that the county
commissioners shall, when requested, issue county certificates of
indebtedness to any person having a levy on their books showing
the amount due by Prince George's county to them, which shall
be transferable and taken up by the said county commissioners
by draft on the treasurer as hereinbefore provided; the treasurer
shall immediately, on receiving the assessment or rate of tax,
proceed to collect the same; and may at any time, after he has
given the requisite notices prescribed by this sub-title of this
article, proceed to sell, either real or personal property of the
person, body politic or corporate, in whose name it stands as-
sessed, for the payment of the same; and it shall be the duty of
the county commissioners, at any time after county or State taxes
are due and in arrear, to authorize the county treasurer by general
order, to sell the real or personal property of any person, body
politic or corporate, who may be then owing State or county
taxes, due and in arrear as aforesaid; it shall not be necessary, in
the order of the commissioners, to mention the name of the delin-
quent or the property owned by him, but only that the county
treasurer be- authorized to enforce the payment of any State or
county taxes due and in arrear to Prince George's county; and
the said order as passed by them shall be published four weeks in
one of the county papers published in the said county, which said
order shall give the said treasurer full authority, after the expira-
tion of the said published order, to proceed and enforce payment
of same, as hereinafter directed; and he shall collect and account
for all county taxes levied in each current year, except such as
may be determined to be uncollectible, within twelve 'months
after the said taxes are due and in arrear, and account for the
same according to law; and all persons who shall pay their county
taxes, to the said treasurer on or before the first day of July
succeeding the date of the levy, shall be entitled to a deduction
of eight per cent, on the amount of said taxes; and all who pay
the same on or before the first day of October succeeding the
date of the levy, shall be entitled to a deduction of four per cent.,
and at the time of receiving said taxes, the treasurer shall make
the deduction aforesaid and note the same on receipts given for
the same; and all county taxes shall be considered due and in
arrear on the first day of October succeeding the date of their
levy, and shall bear interest from that date.
