public travel; and the said bridgekeeper shall receive for his
services such compensation as the said County Commissioners
of Caroline county shall deem just and proper, to be provided
for in their annual levy.
SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That the said County
Commissioners of Caroline county shall open and construct a
suitable county road on each side of said bridge to intersect
roads hereinbefore mentioned, to be paid for as other county
roads are opened and paid for under the road law of Caroline
county.
SEC. 6. And be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That this act shall take effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to pay Benjamin F.
Marsh for the damage of his two vessels, William E. Price
and C. W. Stevenson.

CHAPTER 581.
AN ACT authorizing the State Roads Commission to construct a
highway from Brunswick to Petersville, in Frederick county,
Maryland, by adding two new sections to Article 91 of the
Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Surveyor
and State Survey," sub-title "Public Roads," said sections to
come after section 32Z4 of said article and sub-title, and to
be known as sections 32Z5 and 32Z6.
WHEREAS, The State Roads Commission is having constructed
a State road from Frederick City through the Towns of
Jefferson and Petersville to Knoxville, all in Frederick
county, Maryland; and,
WHEREAS, The Town of Brunswick, a prosperous and rapidly
growing town of about 5,000 inhabitants and over one million
dollars' worth of taxable property, located on the main line
of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, where said railroad has
