the said County Commissioners of. Charles County shall appor-
tion, respectively, to each of the nine election districts of the
county the amount of money received from liquor licenses in
each district to be used exclusively in the district from which
the same shall be or shall have been received for the purpose
of this law, in the event that the amount of levy hereinbefore
provided for, in addition to the sums received from liquor
licenses shall be in excess of the needs and requirements foi
the construction, reconstruction, opening and maintaining of the
roads for the county as aforesaid, the excess shall be retained
in the treasury of the county and be used by the County Com-
missioners of said county for other county expenses. The
application of any such excess to be made by the County Com-
missioners in their discretion either in payment of current
expenses or as a credit to be used in the payment of bonded
indebtedness or for sinking fund purposes upon any bonded
obligations of the county. No expenses for traveling purposes
of any kind shall be allowed to said engineer except to the
extent that be may be ordered to go out of the county, and
then only for such expenditure as may upon proper vouchers
be approved and ordered "by a vote of the Board of County
Commissioners entered upon the minutes of the said board,
not to exceed the sum of one hundred dollars, in any one
year. And it is further provided that the limitation of the
number of the supervisors set forth shall not prevent the
aforesaid County Commissioners from employing extra super-
visors or laborers in work needed upon any new road which
may have been or shall hereafter be opened in accordance with
law by the County Commissioners of the county, to be paid for
out of funds other than those set aside for the purposes of this
act. The Board of County Commissioners are hereby required
to buy, purchase and supply for the several supervisors so
appointed by them, such equipment as in the discretion of the
road engineer, may be reasonably necessary for work on said
county roads and each supervisor shall be responsible for the
safekeeping of all teams, tools, machinery or other property
entrusted to his or their charge, and shall account for and
deliver same to said road engineer whenever required by said
engineer to do so.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the first day of April, 1912.
