therefrom, after paying the debts contracted in making -

tributors thereto, in proportion to the amounts paid by

them; And whereas, it is doubtful whether the said

trustees have power under the act to which this is a
|

supplement, to carry into effect the design and intention

of the said contributors: — Therefore,

SECTIOST 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
Authority to complete buildings
|
Martyland, That the Trustees of the Govan's Town

Academy, be and they are hereby authorised to complete
|
 
|
the buildings and improvements heretofore commenced
|
 
|
on the said ground, and to make further improvements,

and to receive further contributions, and apply the

same in payment of debts contracted or to be contracted

in making the said improvements or buildings.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said trustees be

and they are hereby authorised to issue certificates to

the contributors to .the said buildings and improve-
|
 
|
ments: each certificate to be signed by the secretary to
|
 
|
be appointed by the said trustees, to state the amount
|
 
|
subscribed by the contributors, to whom it is given,
|
 
|
and to be recorded by the said secretary in a book or
|
 
|
books to be kept by him; the said certificates to be trans-
|
 
|
ferable, and the transfer thereof to be recorded by the
|
 
|
secretary of the said trustees.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said trustees be

Academy-house, and as great a quantity of the said

ground as they may think proper, to such person or

debts contracted or to be contracted in making or build-

ing the said houses or improvements, and in keeping
|

the same in repair and good condition, and to divide
|

the balance of the said rents among the said contribu-
