LAWS OF MARYLAND.

CHAP. 23.

Record required

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the proceedings of the said trustees be recorded in a book or books to he kept by a secretary appointed by the said trustees, who

 

may he removed by them whenever they think proper

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the said building

 

and improvements, including the said Academy-house,

 

and the said piece of ground, he and the same are here-

 

by declared freed and exempt from the payment of any

 

state or county tax or levy, so long as the said premi-

 

ses be used or occupied for the purpose above described

 

only.

 

CHAPTER 23.

Passed Jan. 23,1836

A supplement to an act, entitled, an act to provide for the

 

erection of a Bridge over the head -waters of Wicomico

 

River, at or near Mien's Fresh, in Charles county.

Preamble

WHEREAS, the sum of money directed to be levied

 

upon the assessable property of Charles county, by the

 

act to which this is a supplement, has been found by

 

experience, to be inadequate to the accomplishment of

 

the objects of said act: — Therefore,

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

That the Levy Court of Charles county be, and they

 

are hereby authorised and required to levy upon the

 

assessable property of Charles county, the sum of five

 

hundred dollars, in addition to the amount authorised

 

in the original act, and to cause the said sum to be

 

collected and paid over to the order of the commis-

 

sioners named in or appointed under the provisions of

 

said original act, to be by said commissioners applied

 

in aid of the objects of the said original act, in the

 

manner directed by said original act, for the applica-

 

tion of the monies there provided.
