CHAPTER 21.

Passed Jan. 25,1836

An Act authorising the Judges of the Levy Court of

 

Frederick county, in their discretion, to levy a sum of

 

money to build a bridge over Catoctin Creek, on the

 

public road leading from Middletown, by the late

 

John Shafer's Mill, now David Ramsburgh's Mill.

Levy authorised

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

 

Maryland, That from and after the passage of this act,

 

the Judges of the Levy Court of Frederick county, he

 

and they are hereby authorised and empowered in their

 

discretion, to levy a sum of money not exceeding one

 

thousand dollars, on the assessable property in said

 

county, for the purpose of building a bridge over Ca-

 

toctin creek, on the public road leading from Middle-

 

town, by the late John Shafer's mill, now David

 

Ramsburgh's mill.

Contract— bond

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the Levy Court of

 

said county, are hereby authorised to contract with any

 

person or persons to build said bridge, and are requir-

 

ed to take bond or bonds with sufficient security, from

 

any contractor or contractors, for the faithful perform-

ed, it shall be free for all passengers.

 

CHAPTER 22.

Passed Jan. 25, 1836

A supplement to an act, entitled, an act for incorporating

 

the Govan's Town Academy, in Baltimore county.

Preamble

WHEREAS, certain buildings and improvements, in

 

addition to an Academy house, have been erected and

 

made on a piece of ground in Baltimore county, here-

 

tofore conveyed to the Govan's Town Academy; And

 

whereas, the persons who contributed the means to make

 

the said buildings and improvements, did so under an

 

expectation that the same would be rented by the trus-
