An act for the better preservation of the Baltimore and
|
 
|
Susquehanna Rail Road.
|
Riding or driving on forbid
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
 
|
Maryland, That if any person or persons shall ride,
|
 
|
drive or lead any horse or horses, mule or mules, ox
|
 
|
or oxen, or shall drive or ride in any carriage, wagon
|
 
|
or other vehecle, except in the cars or service of the
|
 
|
Baltimore and Susquehanna Rail Road Company, or
|
 
|
by the written permission of said company, or shall
|
 
|
drive any cattle, sheep, hogs, or stock of any, discrip-
|
 
|
tion upon or along the said road or any part or branch
|
 
|
thereof, other than is laid down in a street or streets,
|
 
|
in the city of Baltimore, except at or upon the crossing
|
 
|
places upon said road, such person or persons shall be
|

liable, each and every of them, to a fine of five dol-
|
 
|
lars for each and every offence, to be recovered before
|
 
|
any justice of the peace, as small debts are by law
|
 
|
recovered.

Process only by direction, of the
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That any process which
|
company
|
Shall be issued under and by virtue of this act shall
|
 
|
be only upon the complaint, and at the request of the
|
 
|
Baltimore and Susquehanna Rail Road Company, and
|
 
|
that all fines that may be recoved in such cases, shall
|
 
|
accrue wholly to said company, and that any suit, fine,
|
 
|
and the costs incurred may be remitted in whole or in
|
 
|
part by the justice of the peace by whom such process
|
 
|
shall have been issued, within one month after the date
|
 
|
of his original decision.

An act to incorporate the Trustees of New Town Aca-

demy, in Worcester county.
|
 
|
WHEREAS, the inhabitants of Worcester county
|
 
|
have purchased a lot of ground, in or near New Town,
|
 
|
in said county, and built a house thereon for a semi-
|
 
|
