1853, with amendments enacted on 18th March 1867.
On motion by Mr. Claggett,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill entitled "An Act to repeal an Act
passed March 6th, 1862, chapter 235, entitled 'An Act to
amend section 202, of Article XXX., of the Code of Public
General Laws, relating to Crimes .and Punishments, and pro-
viding for the punishment of Treason and other kindred of-
fences."
On motion by Mr. Fields,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to report a bill to add two additional sections to Article
XXII., of the Code of Public General Laws of the State, en-
titled "Comptroller."
On motion by Mr.' Stevens,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to intro-
duce a bill to amend the Act of 1853, chapter 441, entitled
"An Act to continue the corporate existence of the several
Banking Institutions therein mentioned, repealing the fifth
and ninth sections thereof, and re-enacting the said ninth sec-
tion as amended."
On motion by Mr. Earle,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Earle, Tuck and Spencer, to
report a bill to secure the survey of a route for a Ship Canal,
to connect the waters of the Chesapeake and Delaware Bays.
Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, to which leave
had been granted, reported a bill entitled "An Act supple-
mentary to an Act, passed at January Session, 1867, chapter
247," entitled "An Act to establish and incorporate an Asy-
lum for the Deaf and Dumb;'' and also an Act passed at
January Session, 1868, chapter 409, entitled "An Act to
amend and add additional sections to the Act of 1867, chap-
ter 247, relating to the Deaf and Dumb Asylum."
Which was read the first time.
Also,
Reported favorably, a bill entitled, "An Act to repeal sec-
tions 105 and 106, of Article XXVI., of the Code of Public
General Laws, title 'Corporations,' sub-title 'Insurance Com-
panies,' and to re-enact the same with amendments."
Which was read the first time.
