                APPENDIX——RESOLUTIONS.

June seventeen hundred and eighty, being the same money heretofore
deposited in the eastern shore treasury by Ann Hindman,
executrix of Andrew Mein, for the payment of a British debt,
which has since been received by the creditor, Christopher Court
and Co. merchants of London, to whom it was due by due course
of law, upon the said William Richardson giving bond with security
to the state, to be approved of by the said treasurer, to refund
the aforesaid sum of money and interest, in case a certificate shall
at any time hereafter be produced to the treasurer, acknowledging
that on the thirteenth day of May in the year seventeen hundred
and eighty-one, Ann Hindman paid into the treasury for Christopher
Court and Co. the sum of thirty pounds five shillings and six
pence, by virtue of an act of assembly, passed at October session,
seventeen hundred and eighty, entitled, An act for calling out of
circulation the quota of this state of the bills of credit issued by
Congress, and the bills of credit emitted by acts of assembly under
the old government, and by the resolves of convention.

      1811.
                                        No. 33.
    RESOLVED, That the executive be, and they are hereby directed
to forward to the clerks of the several counties in this state, and
to the register of wills thereof, one copy of Chancellor Kilty's
Reports of the English and British Statutes, for the use of the
said courts; two for the court of appeals, and one for the high
court of chancery.

&c.
    RESOLVED, That the chief clerk to the house of delegates be,
and he is hereby authorised and empowered, to make sale of nine
hundred and fifty volumes of Chancellor Kilty's compilation of
English and British statutes, together with the copy-right belonging
to the state of Maryland; and the said chief clerk shall, before
he proceed to make sale of any of the said books, give bond for
the faithful performance of his duty to the state of Maryland, with
security to be approved by the governor and council; which bond
shall be lodged in the treasury of the western shore; and the said
chief clerk shall, after his having given the said bond, proceed to
dispose of the said books; and when a sale is made of the whole or
of any part thereof, he shall pay the amount of sales into the treasury,
making a deduction of four per cent. for his services.

                                        No. 34.
    RESOLVED, That the treasurer of the western shore be, and he
is hereby authorised and required to pay annually in quarterly
payments, to Frederick Bennett, of Dorchester county, an old revolutionary
soldier, the half pay of a corporal during the remainder
of his life, as a remuneration for his meritorious services.

                                        No. 36.
    RESOLVED, That the treasure of the western shore be, and he
is hereby requested to pay unto Robert Halkerstone (a), of Charles
county, Edward Tillard of Montgomery county, John McCoy,
John S. Belt, Gassaway Watkins, Cornelius H. Mills and John J,
Jacob, and each and every of them, or their order, the sum of one
hundred and twenty-five dollars, annually, during their lives, in
quarterly payments, out of any unappropriated monies in the treasury.
